Along the east coast of the U.S., I-95—a major interstate highway—has earned the nickname “the Iron Pipeline” for its role in illegal gun trafficking. Maryland has been hit especially hard, with over 500,000 illegal guns entering the state since 2010, making it the #1 state for illegally trafficked guns. This has led to a notable increase in hospitalizations due to gun violence.
We set out to spotlight this crisis and drive legislators to enact meaningful policy reforms to curb the flow of guns into Maryland. To make our message resonate, we collaborated with Maryland-bred hip-hop artist Logic, who created an original track for our edgy, evocative short film. The film follows a gun runner’s journey along the Iron Pipeline, building toward a powerful moral crossroads. By tying music and storytelling together, we hope to spark urgent conversations and inspire action to protect communities.
